Frank Caliendo

Academic Director

Professor Caliendo is a teacher, scholar, and administrator at Utah State University. He currently serves as the Head of the Department of Economics and Finance in the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business at Utah State University, and he previously served as the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs in the Huntsman School.

His scholarly research focuses on topics in Macroeconomics, Public Economics, Household Finance, and Economic Theory. He was named the Eldon J. Gardner Teacher of the Year at Utah State University in 2011, and he received the Young Economists Award of the International Institute of Public Finance in 2008 for research that “stands out for its scientific quality, creativity and relevance” (award shared with co-author Scott Findley).

Professor Caliendo has been a visiting scholar at the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis and the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia and has presented his research at universities and academic conferences all over the world.

Blake Dursteler

Executive Director

Blake Dursteler is a real estate developer, entrepreneur, and private equity investor who currently serves as Chief Operating Officer for Interstate Commercial Properties, a real estate development firm located in Logan, Utah.

Blake has spent the majority of his career working in the areas of real estate management, accounting, and finance. He previously served as Chief Financial Officer for one of the largest private real estate development firms in the Intermountain West. He has also worked as an accountant for a regional CPA firm and began his career working as a financial analyst for Intermountain Healthcare.

Blake serves on the National Advisory Board for the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business at Utah State University and has taught courses in real estate development, corporate finance, and equity valuations at Utah State University as an adjunct faculty member for the past eight years. Blake also serves on the board of directors for a number of local charitable and nonprofit organizations.

Blake earned a Master of Accounting and bachelor's degrees in both finance and accounting from Utah State University.
