This summer, CGO welcomes Jon Matt to the research team as a Google Policy Fellow.

Matt recently graduated from George Mason University and received his bachelor’s degree in economics. He will work with our team of researchers on technology and innovation policy issues this summer.

Before coming to CGO, Matt was a research intern with the Center for Monetary and Financial Alternatives at the Cato Institute. He was also a tech policy intern at the R Street Institute.

This summer, Matt said he hopes to learn how to improve his skills in applying data-driven research tools to important technology policy issues.

“I’m really excited to be joining the CGO for the summer as a Google Policy Fellow,” said Matt. “I am looking forward to gaining a deeper knowledge of tech policy topics within the economics of innovation and regulation”

In his spare time, Matt said he enjoys listening to San Francisco Giants games. He also likes going for hikes, playing rugby, reading good books, and is constantly on the search for the best coffee and dark beer.

We are excited to have Jon Matt at CGO and look forward to working with him through the summer.
